The Heart Touching Story Of KFC’s Colonel Sanders.

Have you ever feel your life is useless, and rejected by everyone. Yes Colonel Harland Sanders the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken did. He face lot of failure in his life.


He was born in 1890 Henryville,IN. His troublesome life starts when he was six years old with his dad passed away. Little Sanders was alone with his younger brother and sister as his mother was long day working.

When he was in seventh grade he left the school and work for a farmer.

Work life

At age 16 Sanders join the US Army by faking his age. After one year he honorably discharge from the Army.

After that he join the railway as a labor. However he was dropped out from the railway as he was fight with his co-worker.

how ever his life get worse day by day, he started studying law when he was in the railway. guess what, he ruined his law carrier by getting in to another fight.

After that he started a job as a life insurance seller. As same as last jobs he got fired.

In 1939 Sanders started selling fried chicken. It makes great popularity over next decade. The governor of Kentucky named him Colonel, the highest title of honor the state can give.

He dressed white and tie made him pop culture icon.

In 1952 he made a deal with his friend who own a restaurant to sell his fried chicken labelled ” Kentucky Fried Chicken ” with 4 cents royalty for every piece he sell.

Within few months Sander’s Kentucky Fried Chicken become the most selling item, and he make deals with several other restaurants around the city.

After new interstate bypassed his restaurant he lost again. He get only $ 105 monthly security check.

“I made a resolve then that I was going to amount to something if I could. And no hours, nor amount of labor, nor amount of money would deter me from giving the best that there was in me.”

However Sanders decided not to get retired from his dreams. He went to the restaurants and asked for selling his chicken.

By 1963 he gt many franchise requests and more than 600 restaurants around the US and Canada started selling Kentucky Fried Chicken.

When his business get more publicity a venture capitalist named Jack C. Massey wants to buy the franchise rights.

With weeks of discussion Sanders agreed to sell franchise rights for 2 million dollars in January 1965.

As the contract Kentucky Fried Chicken company started their own restaurants around the world and Colonel Sanders get lifetime salary of 40000$, a seat in board and majority franchise of KFC Canada and become the brand ambassador.
